The joys of the Temp Work Permit

Just when we thought we were almost there we get an ominous email from Canadian Immigration querying Ian's qualifications.

They mention an organisation called Association of Scientific Engineers and Technologists of Alberta (ASET) ?? Is he qualified to register with them. We have never heard of them, Ian's new boss has never heard of them!

Several frantic emails and calls to Canada later seems that Ian's qualifications will enable him to register for ASET upon arrival into Canada.

Letter sent pronto back to Canadian High Commission so now we sit back and wait (yet again). Ian's start date of 17th November looking a tad unlikely at this stage. But the upside is it gives him another week at home clearing out all his stuff from workshop and garage.
